Fully renovated home with chill-out beach vibe, mod cons, ultra quiet appliances and open plan kitchen and living area flowing onto large sunny, wrap-around decks on two sides of the house. Walkway to beach is directly over the road. Close to North Piha Surf Lifeguard Club - patrolled swimming flags mostly opposite our house during summer for safe swimming.

With 2 king beds and 2 single/twin beds, this house offers WiFi, a washing machine/clothes dryer, AC, and heating. A modern kitchen that's well equipped with everything you need to cook delicious food and enjoy filtered drinking water. Bathrooms come equipped with a shower and hair dryer and a separate toilet.
Family have been coming to Piha for five generations. We’ve had this house since the 1990’s. One of the first to be built in this area in the 1950’s, fully renovated in 2023/2024 retaining the easy-living beach vibe that fits in so well with the wonderful location and community. You're sure to make fantastic memories with a stay at our place!

Sorry we DO NOT accept gatherings (parties), other guests to stay (unless by prior arrangement), pets or fireworks.
Extras: Cleaning fee $150 required.
Beach towels: bring your own beach towels so you can fully relax at the beach soaking up the warm sun, sand and surf.
We provide:
Bed linen and a bathroom towel for each guest per stay. Please don't take our bathroom towels to the beach as salt and iron sand sticks to fabric.
Filtered drinking water
UHT milk, tea (regular black tea and peppermint), coffee (instant and some whole beans to get you started using the coffee maker), sugar
Vegemite, marmite, salt, pepper, cooking oil, white vinegar
Tea towels, cleaning products, rubbish bag, laundry powder, some toilet paper
Hand wash, body wash, hand towels, shower mat
Water and septic tank: We have a septic tank so please place nothing unsuitable down drains or the toilet. There is both reticulated water (local artesian water for our community only that has a high mineral content) and our own fresh rainwater tanks for filtered drinking water. We request that you conserve water use eg. taking short showers, not leaving taps running, etc. Occasionally supply may be limited in peak summer months. The very occasional power outages in the area won’t affect water supply and this doesn't happen often.
Out-and-about and essentials: Piha Store has delicious artisan food and bread and stocks most essentials, but has no alcohol or fuel. Tasty local dining and take aways are available from the Piha RSA (Returned Services Association), Piha Bowling Club, South Piha Surf Club, Murray Piha and award-winning Aryeh (licensed). The nearest supermarkets and petrol stations are in Henderson (20 mins drive) so we suggest you purchase your provisions on the way. Parts of this region of Auckland are ‘dry’ which means many places do not sell alcohol. If this is important remember to get your provisions near to your home or shop near Auckland Airport where there are supermarkets and other shops. The drive from downtown Auckland and from Auckland airport takes approx. 1 hour in light traffic.
ABOUT THE SPACE
The house has an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area surrounded by large wrap-around decks on two sides with several options for outdoor dining. On one level above two garages with wide step access from driveway to front door and decks.
Bedrooms: 3 bedrooms attached to living area, two with comfortable king sized beds and one with 2 singles. Master bedroom has sliding door onto deck with glimpses of the sea. All have insect screens over opening windows, wardrobe space (draws, hangers hanging space), dual power points with USB charger and portable fans during summer. Option to bring your own bed linen, or we can provide this by prior arrangement with your host.
Living area: Comfortable seating areas, dining table with 6 chairs, two large sliding doors onto decks. AC/Heat pump and plantation bamboo flooring.
Deck: Large decks with power source and furniture (wooden table, bench seat, chairs, bean bags) allow you to chill out or dine outside while enjoying the sun or dappled light.
Kitchen: Well equipped with everything you need to cook delicious food (oven, induction stove, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, pantry storage space for your food supplies) and enjoy filtered drinking water from separate tap over the kitchen sink.
Coffee: We have a Breville Barista Express coffee maker. A small amount of whole coffee beans are provided to get you started. If you love your coffee you may want to bring beans with you, or buy more at the Piha Store. Powder coffee is also provided.
Bathroom: Has a shower and separate toilet. Some essentials - hand and body wash, hand towels, toilet paper and cleaning materials - are provided. Option to bring your own bathroom towels or we can provide these by prior arrangement with your host.
Laundry: Washing machine and clothes drier for your use, portable drying rack, clothes pegs and outdoor clothes line. Some washing powder is provided. If you need more, either bring it with you or buy more at Piha Store.
Wi-Fi and entertainment: Wi-Fi is provided. For your entertainment there is a projector to watch your favourite movies on full-length roller blinds as the sun goes down (either project inside or enjoy outdoor movies viewing from the deck). UE Boom wireless speaker, playing cards and frisbee also provided.
Lawn and wash-down area for sandy feet and beach gear: Find a spot on the lawn under the grand Pohutukawa tree to deeply relax. An outdoor shower and wash-down area for sandy feet and beach gear are conveniently located on the lawn beside the front steps. We’ve learnt this 'beach hack' is a must living so close to the beach. We recommend that you use the wash-off area and shake off beach towels to reduce the amount of sand making its way into the house.
Beach towels: Bring beach towels to enjoy the beach. We recommend wearing open shoes to the beach during summer as iron sand gets hot and can burn.
