The beaches are tidal but great for swimming when the tide is high, the west coast beaches are close by.

Summary: A really lovely stay. Fantastic host who was very helpful. The house was 50s themed which we really enjoyed, every thing you could want was available. We spent a lot of time sitting in the old fashioned garden, admiring the flower gardens and old established fruit trees, while watching the many birds and other wildlife that visited each day. Was a perfect place to base ourselves to explore the many beaches and other attractions the Awhitu penninsular has to offer. Would highly recommend to couples and families
