Enveloped by beech trees, you can often spot New Zealand's native birds, such as Toutouwai (robins) and Korimako (Bellbirds), right from the living room sofa or the deck. Base Camp is just a short walk away from the village center yet enjoys a serene and tranquil setting. If you listen carefully, you might even hear the occasional kiwi at night.
Upstairs, there's a private and sheltered deck, along with space outside in the garden for kids to run around of have a BBQ, taking in the great mountain views and the therapeutic embrace of nature. The clear night sky, especially during the winter with snow-clad mountains, is a an amazing sight, perfect for stargazing.
