Summary: Unfortunately an uncomfortable experience with an egotistical large male receptionist yelling at me (5 foot, solo female traveller) through my bedroom door late at night tainted my otherwise acceptable 4 day stay. He had asked me to remove the shoe I’d placed to stop my door slamming late at night as I ducked to the bathroom. When I then closed the door, he yelled at me to reopen it and apologise for slamming it. When I didn’t want to reopen the door and told him I felt uncomfortable with him standing outside, he then threatened to kick me out of the hotel unless I apologised. It was very unsettling. Thankfully all other staff I interacted with were lovely. Otherwise, the doors close creakily, slowly and loudly, and as the bathrooms are shared you’ll hear that throughout the night. From my room, with the door closed, I could hear everything happening in the bathroom nearby. So bring earplugs. In my 4 night stay they did not change my sheets, or turn on the dishwasher in the kitchen. There are sufficient bathrooms on each floor and the bedrooms are fairly new. The bathrooms and kitchen were regularly cleaned and well maintained.
