Positive: Property had great views!

Negative: We paid for a 5 bedroom house and 2 living areas. It had 4 bedrooms. Called the owner to ask where the fifth bedroom was as we were a party of 5 women who were expecting our own room each. Owner said it was advertised as 4 bedroom house and another bed could be the window seat in the media room. He offered to come and make it up for us. There was no way one of us was going to sleep in a window. It was cold and we had paid for a bedroom! We dragged a single mattress from one of the rooms into the media room and onto the floor for one of us to sleep on. It should also be noted that the pool was out of action due to maintenance which we didn’t know until we got the checkin info. It should also be noted that the pool is shared with other properties. It is not private to that house (which it was advertised on booking.com as). Finally it should be noted that the check-out time on booking.com said by 11am but the info sent by owner said 10am sharp. Such a shame as this was a lovely house in a nice location with great views and I would never leave a bad review if I can help it . But you do expect to get what is advertised and what you pay for, and it was not cheap for a one night stay. Booking.com were brilliant in responding to me when I complained about it. They couldn’t get agreement from the owners (again taking no responsibility) for any compensation, but they gave me a credit themselves for a future booking through booking.com, which I really appreciate.
