Travel Purpose: business

Positive: On the plus side, clean, tidy, modern, plenty of space, the beds, whilst all of varying degrees of hardness, were all comfy. The teens enjoyed the 'disco' lighting. Our very late night arrival was made so easy and hassle-free. The fridge space is fantastic, and the hob (while a little temperamental to start some elements) was excellent for cooking breakfast for 8 people. I really appreciated the big pan! Excellent space for a large group.

Negative: Because we had a group of teenagers I think next time we'd try to book closer to town, so they could walk into the city, as it was a little difficult to coordinate with the kids staying elsewhere. But for the price it was great, and it is handy to Hornby Hub/DressMart etc. Would recommend if you are ok with a bit of a commute into town. A few minor niggles: The showerhead holders are all really loose, so it's hard to get them to stay in position. We tightened them, but they need something more to make them lock in place. The back right bedroom door was unlocked when we arrived, and windows were open, so the house was quite cold. Luckily, the heating system is efficient, because there were no additional blankets if you felt the cold. The led lightswitch in the master bedroom cycles through colours all night, and we could not work out how to make it stop. We could not get the bathtub (spabath/hot tub) taps to turn on at all and felt like we would break them if we tried. I think the advertising for this as a spa is a bit misleading. It's a bathtub with jets (that you can't fill with water), but at the price we paid, it was still great value - compared to what we'd pay at a backpackers and it was a whole lot nicer having a space for just our group. The kids could not get YouTube to work at all. That was a little frustrating for them. I think the issue was that it required you to login and did not allow a guest access, which seems odd given that it's a guest house.
