Positive: The GOOD - the room was luxurious,  comfortable and in a convenient location at Wharf 23, close to everything.
Negative: Limited toiletries were provided for our stay, frustrating. The BAD - misled about the security deposit. It is MANDATORY as you cannot register online without giving your credit card details to Bedbooka at which point the security deposit was authorised placing a hold on my credit card for the amount. In my case, the security deposit was an exorbitant NZD500, whereas, the accommodation was NZD708. Without registering online you will not receive the access codes. All the parties involved say that a deposit maybe required but in reality it is not the case, and I question whether this breaches any regulations. I wanted to only give my card details to Booking not every Tom, Dick or Harriet. Booking really needs to examine how it deals with security deposits and forcing credit card details to be spread to multiple parties. This is not good enough. The UGLY - after all the parties stated that the deposit would be released after 7 days, I didn't get it back until 30 days later. The card company cancelled the transaction as the hold failed to be accepted or released. I am sick and tired of chatting with everyone involved only to hear that their part of the release was successful.  It was very stressful not knowing if I was going to lose my deposit for 30 days after taking care of the apartment.  I will go out of my way to avoid anything that mentions security deposits in the future.
