Positive: Sunny room, great bed, very clean, nicely newly renovated feel, own entrance and even tiny deck to sit on. Great location next to Cornwall park and with a cafe with good coffee just 200m down the road.
Negative: The room is one of the bedrooms in a townhouse. It's only ca. 12m2. (poky). Although the bedroom is downstairs, with its own entrance from the street, the internal door is just that - you'll hear lots of noise from the family - walking past the door to their bedrooms, walking up the stairs to their lounge, etc. The internal door only a has flimsy push button lock - ie. it feels like the owners can enter quite easily. An extra chain lock would be great. The owners family is lovely, but busy and noisy - playing piano (beautifully!), walking past, talking, up till 11pm each evening and they were up all 3 mornings that I stayed at 6am chopping and preparing meals in the kitchen (with appliances whirling). There is a microwave and hot water kettle in the room, but there weren't any mugs, no complimentary tea / coffee, no plates, cuttlery. (All were promptly provided on request). The hairdryer in the bathroom had an overseas power plug that doesn't fit the NZ powerpoint on the wall. An adapter would be great.
