Welcome to our quiet retreat, a warm 3 bedroom house with large open plan living area nestled into the bush. It is a short walk to the waterfront, the playground and the main entrance to the Pounawea Bush.
Nearby golf course, and horse trekking. Fishing is one of our pastimes in the Ōwaka River. There is a great walk along Surat Bay to False Island and Cannibal Bay, with a chance of seeing sea lions along the way.
Ōwaka, 5 minutes away by car, has a small supermarket open seven days until 7pm. There is a very good museum in Ōwaka that is also the tourist information centre.
Pounawea is a great base for exploring the Catlins.

Summary: Lovely house, very relaxing with everything we needed.They dont supply bed linen but i didnt realise this but they very kindly made sure we had some.Would definately reommend
