Welcome to our quintessential Kiwi bach and home-away-from-home, Soul Space on Cooks.

We are located at the northern end of Buffalo Beach, up the hill in a quiet cul-de-sac with stunning, panoramic views of Mercury Bay that will take your breath away when you walk in the door.

Leave your stress behind, unwind, enjoy and recharge your soul.

Walk in and soak up the views of the bay, the township and the surrounding countryside. Sit back and relax, either on the large front deck, in the conservatory, the lounge, or out on the covered smaller back deck which also has a view of the bay.

Whitianga is a great base to explore the Coromandel, which offers scenic walking tracks, fantastic fishing and diving spots, charming local towns and pristine beaches.

It’s hard to beat the relaxed and beachy vibe of Whitianga itself with its awesome and friendly community and abundance of activities on offer. Enjoy one of the many acclaimed restaurants and bars, the boutique shopping, or kick back on the beach with fish and chips from one of the local takeaways, who will be happy to batter and cook your catch. The town offers something for everyone, with a wide range of land and water-based activities for all ages including golf, mini golf, horse riding, swimming, kayaking, fishing, banana boating and much more.

Soul Space, our beach bach, is a 1980s Initial Home, laid back, comfy, close to town, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the summer crowds – a 2 min drive down the hill to the beach and a 7 min drive to Whitianga town centre.

The living spaces and bedrooms alike are perfectly positioned to make the most of the views. We are able to accommodate a maximum of six guests. Each of the three bedrooms are located off the hallway. The large master bedroom offers a king bed along with a TV and DVD player, enjoy breakfast in bed and the stellar bay views. The second bedroom contains a queen bed and bay views and the third bedroom has a double bed and a view down to the water.

The kitchen is small but well equipped, with a microwave, slow cooker, George Foreman grill, separate fridge and freezer, and a baby espresso machine – because you can’t start the day at the beach house without a good coffee. We also have an ice bucket to keep the wine or bubbles chilled.

The lounge has a generous 55” flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player and a Chromecast to allow streaming from your Netflix account or other platforms. Complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi is provided along with a range of DVDs.

The open plan dining and lounge lead out to a conservatory and expansive sunny deck. You have the choice of indoor dining or dining at the 6 seater outdoor dining table on the deck overlooking the bay. A hooded gas barbeque is provided.

Linen for beds, bath towels, face cloths and beach towels are included. Beds are made up. There is a laundry area with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board.

We have books and board games for chill out days and a couple of surf casting and boat rods are available, if by chance you have forgotten your own.

For your comfort in the cooler months, heating is by means of panel heaters in the three bedrooms and a wall mounted carbon infra-red heater with remote control in the lounge.

We have off street parking for a maximum of two cars.

Your treasured family pet is welcome on holiday too, although the section is not fenced, so it is not suitable for younger children or pets that could wander.

The minimum stay is 2 nights and may be higher with notice at peak season or public holidays. Prices are negotiable for long term stays.

Special conditions: This is our home away from home, so please treat it with respect. No parties or loud music that may disturb our awesome neighbours. Feel free to use condiments and pantry staples, but please replenish these if you use them up. Smoking is allowed outside only.
