In summer, borrow a book from our community library and lounge on the north-facing deck, or relax with friends and family under the secluded Italian style-pergola. In winter, cosy up with soup or a glass of wine and warm your toes in front of the wood-burning stove.

Wake to birdsong and a gentle stroll to the nearby lookout - take a picnic and enjoy the stunning coastline of Kawau Island and views across the Hauraki Gulf. If you prefer, enjoy a twenty-minute stroll down the valley for a swim at the safe local beach, or watch the kids jump off the wharf or pontoon into our clean island waters.

When it's time to eat, enjoy cooking in your well-equipped kitchen or sizzle a steak on the Weber barbie outside. If you prefer, check out the meals at Kawau Boat Club or the Mansion House cafe (seasonal opening hours). Access is only by water from South Cove so you'll need to book a water taxi or have your own boat.

After a day exploring or relaxing in the fresh air, you'll have a chance to experience a spectacular sunset and spend some quiet time, gazing at the stars in the silent night. With no streetlights on the island, you'll never have a better view.

Travel to and from South Cove is easy - there are regular water taxis and ferries from Sandspit, seven days a week, or bring your own boat if you prefer.
