LOCATION:
The phrase location, location, location is truly appropriate for The Bay House! Centrally located on Park Street in Queenstown’s locally known ‘dress circle’ this is about as close to town as you can get. Yet still a quiet street with little traffic other than a plethora of cyclists, runners and walkers sharing the popular Frankton Track. The track begins at the end of the street and takes you along the lakefront all the way to Kelvin Heights and even Jack's Point if you're up for an adventure (grab a bike for that one!). The Bay House is right on the water's edge of Lake Wakatipu. A quick five-minute walk along the shore and you're in the heart of town, strolling through the Queenstown Gardens.
STYLE:
Designed by renowned New Zealand architect Ian Athfield in 1987, this three-level home maximizes its location with all bedrooms offering stunning lake views. The Bay House offer a luxurious yet wonderfully homely vibe in a standout location.
The property has been fully modernised, including ducted heating and double glazing along with luxurious furnishings meticulously curated by the talented owners, who work in interior design and creative advertising. As a result, every aspect of the house exudes a sense of sophistication and aesthetic appeal, a reflection of the owner’s creative expertise.
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS:
The three king bedrooms all feature magnificent lake views across Lake Wakatipu and unobstructed mountain views either standing or lying down. Luxurious new beds, feather down pillows and duvets and top-quality luxurious linens, offer ultimate comfort. The second floor features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, including an ensuite for the main bedroom. The third bedroom is on the top floor. There is also a separate toilet on this level. Both bathrooms have showers, luxury toiletries, hair dryers, heated towel rails and underfloor heating.

LIVING AREA:
The third floor living area at The Bay House offers a spacious and inviting atmosphere, exuding a wonderful alpine feel. With its vaulted beam ceilings, schist gas fireplace, and fabulous furnishings, it's the ideal place to unwind. Take a seat on the sofa or the luxurious leather loungers and make yourself comfortable. For your entertainment, there's a 55" TV with SKY TV, including Sport channels, a Netflix login, and Bluetooth audio, ensuring you have everything you need for a cozy night in.
The floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding door open to the front balcony, where you can bask in the refreshing mountain air, listen to the soothing sounds of the lake, and soak in the breathtaking mountain views.
KITCHEN AND DINING:
The Bay House is all about the details, right down to the plates, cups and crockery, a bright and quirky collection sure to bring about some fun holiday conversations. The modern kitchen boasts loads of natural light and is fully equipped with quality appliances and the all-important coffee machine. There’s breakfast bar stool seating in the kitchen, and a more formal dining area for six. A bright and welcoming space to prepare and share memorable holiday meals with your friends and family. Worth mentioning is the gorgeous wallpaper, reflective of the surrounding alpine environment.
OUTDOOR LIVING:
The dining area opens out to a sunny backyard. It's the perfect spot for firing up the Weber BBQ and enjoying a delicious meal at the outdoor dining table or relaxing on the extra-large and super comfy lounge suite. There's a spa pool nestled in this area too, just what you need to soothe those tired muscles after a day of hitting the slopes or biking trails.
THE GREAT OUTDOORS:
With its central location, The Bay House offers plenty of opportunity for exploring close to home. If you're up for some fun and games, there’s four good quality tennis racquets, pétanque balls, and four frisbee golf frisbees, all located in the garage and available for guest use; head over to the courts, greens, and course at the Queenstown Gardens just a minutes’ walk away. Guests are also welcome to use the chilly bin, small backpack, and picnic rug for adventures.
Further afield, if you're itching to hit the slopes, Coronet Peak is a short 24-minute drive. Plus, there's plenty more to explore in nearby Glenorchy and historic Arrowtown, both stunning in their own right.
OTHER PRACTICALITIES:
There is parking for three cars on the flat driveway (easy access / avoid the infamous steep driveways of Queenstown). There is a fully equipped laundry in the ground floor garage with washer, dryer and two ‘Asko’ drying cupboards for wet ski gear and ski racks.
RATE INCLUSIONS, FEES & MINIMUM STAYS:
Rates are inclusive of 15% GST, spa pool valet, premium linen and for a maximum of six guests. A departure clean fee of NZ$375 applies. Bookings of 8 nights or more receive a service clean. Minimum 3-night stay year-round, and 4-7 nights during peak periods.

• A standard exit clean is included with your booking; however, you are expected to leave the property in a satisfactory state. Excessively littered and/or dirty conditions at departure will result in extended housekeeping hours being charged. This may include carpet cleaning or excessive rubbish removal for example.
• The Bay House is a residential dwelling and no parties or events are to be held.
• Please be mindful that the property is located in a residential area and be courteous to your neighbours. Quiet hours are to be observed between 10pm and 7am.
• We are required to take a security bond pre-authorisation in the event of any damage to the property. The guest will be notified immediately should a charge need to be taken.
