Positive: Couple ### A Proper Kiwi Country Hotel What a great find! This is a fantastic country hotel in the heart of Lumsden — and the perfect central stopover for anyone travelling further afield around the South Island. The rooms have been beautifully given a makeover while still retaining the character and charm of a building that’s well over 100 years old and steeped in local history. You get modern comforts without losing that wonderful old-country hotel atmosphere. The hospitality is exactly what you hope for in a Kiwi country pub — friendly, genuine, down-to-earth and welcoming. Add a beautiful open fire, a great atmosphere and an awesome country pub menu, and you’ve got a place that’s very easy to settle into. And as a lovely bonus, the resident family dog is very much part of the furniture, adding to the homely, relaxed feel of the place. Whether you’re stopping for the night or staying a little longer, this is the sort of hotel that reminds you why country pubs are special. **Highly recommended — great people, great food, great atmosphere, a very special four-legged local, and plenty of old-fashioned Kiwi character. We’ll definitely be back !**
Negative: Nothing to dislike, great place for the location, money and hospitality
Summary: Perfect location, exceptional kiwi hospitality
