Situated 400m from the Bluff Hill lookout overlooking the Port of Napier and Hawke's Bay the Bluff Hill Lighthouse B&B is one of a kind. The property was once allocated to have a Lighthouse placed on but this planned Lighthouse for Napier was never built there. Views and B&B position is therefore quite unique.

The funky self-contained apartment features a separate entrance and an "open plan" layout with a kitchen and lounge area. There is a main bedroom with a queen bed also a second bedroom for friends or children if required. The accommodation is clean and comfortable with free Wi-Fi and stunning views.

A continental breakfast is included in the tariff of the accommodation however because a fully functioning kitchen is there all basic food items for a breakfast will be provided and guests can putt the food together themselves. Eggs, as well as milk will be left in the fridge. Bread and continental breakfasts items are found in the pantry.

The story of The Napier Lighthouse:

Originally the Napier Lighthouse was to have been sited on Lighthouse Road at the top of Bluff Hill in the reserve set aside by the Hawke’s Bay Provincial Council (recent picture below) but for economic reasons (to reduce running costs), the light was eventually mounted behind the local gaol (Prison) on Coote Road behind the prison garden. Now, The Bluff Hill Bowling Club is on that old historic reserve and the Bluff Hill Lighthouse B&B is located in front of the Bowling Green where the Napier Lighthouse was originally planned, commanding one of the best views in Napier overlooking the Port of Napier and all of Hawke’s Bay.

The four bedroom house is divided in half and each unit consists of two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a living room separated by a soundproof wall. The custom designed B&B is completely private with separate access to the B&B.
