Idyllic absolute waterfront view from TIDE at The Sea House | Apartment in Bay of Islands

The amazing location of The SeaHouse with its right out front view of the sea and the Cavalli Islands, is tucked at the far end of Tapuaetahi Beach, overlooking the ever changing tides.
It's the kind of place where you can imagine the view is yours alone. There is no traffic noise, just the splash of the waves just twenty metres away at full tide. When the tide recedes it exposes the rock pools full of tiny sea creatures. And the perfect rocky outcrop and shingle beach which makes for the perfect fishing spot if a fresh snapper for dinner is your thing.
It also uncovers what we call the Mermaid Pool, an accessible sheltered bathing area, perfect on a warm summer evening.
The beach is part of the land in the care of the Tapuaetahi Incorporation, who farm the land through which access is provided along a sealed private road. Entry is through an electronic gate with the code only available for owners and their guests.
The incorporation share their beach front land with around fifty owners who lease the land on which their houses sit. The kind of laid back beach village so many remember.
Just 20 km from Kerikeri, the sandy beach provides easy access for swimming, boating and fishing and the estuary alongside is perfect for kayaking. A warm lagoon is accessible from the beach at low tide.
There are nearby walks or bring your bike and cycle the area. Boats can be launched from the beach.
Kiwi can be heard (and often seen) at night in the bush area surrounding the lagoon and in the native bush areas. We are currently restoring our garden areas to the original native species. Its a work in progress.
TIDE is our well equipped first floor apartment with a staircase going down towards the sea. It is completely furnished for your comfort. There is a full kitchen, including all appliances, there are coffee machines, tea, coffee etc provided in the pantry, a dining area, a BBQ on the glass fronted deck and a larger BBQ located downstairs.
All linen and towels are provided, there is a large tiled shower, and a washing machine. And a separate toilet.
This is the perfect place for solitude or for romance.
But if you would like to share your time here with friends or family, but want to have more space, we have a second fully self-contained apartment TIME on the ground floor.
And a third self contained hangout space The Lounge, with room to watch TV, or listen to music, a mezzanine with additional beds, a kitchenette and bathroom/ laundry.

We only take one booking at a time, so you have exclusive use of the place, if you want to book just for yourself or as a couple, then the other apartment remains empty.
The Lounge however is available to you if you wish to play the Vinyl or CDs from our collection. or just hang out with a different view of the sea.
An outdoor bath, large enough for two is carefully located on the lower deck in a little roofed but open-fronted pavilion with a view of the sea, but also with complete privacy.
Sleep to the gentle rhythms of the sea change as the tide comes and goes, and wake to the perfect view. There is no traffic noise, no sirens, just tranquillity.
But if you need technology there is good wifi , a smart TV, and music.
When the weather conditions are right, the water can be great for surfing, then the word gets out and surfers may appear outside your window enjoying the waves on occasion.
So too do the dolphins, so keep a watch for them.
The fishing is good, just stand on the rocks within view of your balcony to bring home your catch for dinner.
