You will have direct access to the regional park at the bottom of the property, and scenic tracks that take you down to Whakanewha beach where a swim at high tide is summer is a must. Take a picnic and check out the Cascade Falls track, watch the shore birds and enjoy the slow ebb and flow of the tide.
Inside, the large lounge is perfect for that book and afternoon snooze, and in winter the wood burner will keep you cosy and warm. Boredom is not an option with the basket chock-a-block full of entertaining board games, with the flat screen TV (with Sky and Netflix) your last resort.
The extensive deck is well set-up with bean bags, lounge, table and chairs, sun umbrella and barbeque with three sets of sliding doors encouraging indoor outdoor living.
Dinner for six is on order in the separate dining area where you can watch the evening gently close in over Whakanewha bay.
Baywatch boasts three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main bedroom is on the top floor with one king bed. The second bedroom is on the lower ground floor with a queen bed and the third bedroom space with a double couch bed is also on the top floor.
With two bathrooms and plenty of indoor and outdoor space, there is ample room and private places for everyone.
The spacious, well-stocked kitchen with modern appliances is perfect for those who love to cook and don’t worry coffee lovers – there is a coffee machine just for you.
Wander down the road to the famous Rocky Bay Hall café which is open on Saturday and Sunday mornings and for those with fitness in mind, the coastal walking track starting not far from the hall can take you all the way to Matiatia where the ferry docks. There is so much to explore and discover within this hidden gem of Waiheke.
Omiha (Rocky Bay) is only 10 minutes’ drive from the car ferry and an easy 15 minutes from the passenger ferry. The closest supermarket is minutes away at Ostend and there are a number of great wineries all close-by including Tantalus, Stony Ridge, Frenchman’s Hill, Batch and Te Motu.
PLEASE NOTE: An exit cleaning fee applies to each stay. All linen and towels are supplied but please bring your own beach towels.
Minimum stays: Seven nights between mid-December and mid-January, two nights all other times and three nights for public holiday weekends.
Security Deposit: A security deposit of $500 will be preauthorized to your credit card 2 days before departure. This will be released 5 days after departure. A 3.5 credit card surcharge applies to all card payments.
