A character crib modernised and contemporised, it has all the comforts and yet still retains the simplicity of a traditional holiday house that you remember from your own childhood holidays. The views are wonderful and guests say they feel relaxed as soon as they arrive.
In summer you can practically spend all day on the sunny deck- morning coffee and papers, al fresco lunch and then to enjoy the long Central Otago evenings with drinks and BBQ dinner until it gets dark well after 10pm in summer. In winter you can enjoy the sunshine streaming in the windows whilst you take in the views of the calm lake and snowy mountain tops. It’s so cosy in winter that a relaxing dinner at home and local pinot noir after skiing will be very appealing.
The crib was one of the earliest on Kelvin Heights and has been built in several stages and now recently refurbished. The two queen bedrooms are linked internally or can be accessed independently through French doors off the large deck; There is plenty of off-street parking. The garden is in constant bloom for almost all of the year so you can enjoy fresh flowers during your stay.
Situated just at the beginning of the Kelvin Heights Peninsula, this home is perfectly positioned for water views, walking and biking trails and still very convenient to Queenstown central. You can walk a few minutes down to the beach for a swim and sunbathe or ride/ walk the new network of trails to Queenstown and Arrowtown. Walk along the waterfront trail for less than 10 minutes to the Hilton Hotel for a range of restaurants, maybe a spa treatment or evening cocktails.
Take a water taxi across or drive 15 minutes to the buzz of Queenstown central or 20 minutes to the quaintness of historic Arrowtown. Convenient to the Airport and Remarkables Park and 5 Mile shopping centres (3km). The cottage is minutes from both Queenstown and Jack Point golf course, close to Coronet Peak and even closer to Remarkables ski area. Queenstown area has an abundance of things to do and this crib provides a convenient and relaxing weekend or holiday base.
