The Tennis Pavilion is a sunny and spacious bach just one house back from the beach and adjacent to Longshore beach house. Ranchsliders open onto an all-weather tennis court on one side and onto small private and open patio areas under timber pergolas on the other three sides.
The pavilion is well equipped, with leather couches, coffee table, dining table/chairs for 6 and smart TV, DVD and stereo at one end, and a kitchen along one side. There’s a splitable super-king bed. A small room-within-a-room has 2 pairs of built-in bunk beds. (Feather and down duvets and pillows are supplied; linen is optional.)
There's a compact bathroom with large shower, and a laundry in a cupboard. A ceiling heat pump will quietly keep you warm or cool.
The pavilion is easy-access, with car parking at the door and bus stop nearby. There’s a Weber barbecue and an outdoor picnic table on a small private patio, and a large shared trampoline is a few metres away.
Waikanae Beach is just a minute’s walk away, via a private right-of-way. There’s even a hot and cold outdoor shower to wash off the sand and sea salt!
Guests have access to the shared heated outdoor swimming pool at Seabreeze next door (heated mid Sept - 30 April) and the Pavilion has its own private mini-spa pool.
The Tennis Pavilion is suitable for a family of one or two adults and up to four children. It's ideal for a couple wanting to sharpen their tennis skills, parents coaching their children, or a family simply wishing to enjoy tennis, swimming, beach walks and local sightseeing. It's a great base from which to enjoy Kapiti’s many attractions including beaches, bush walks, restaurants, shopping and museums.
Waikanae is 45 minutes from Wellington by car or 60 minutes by frequent train service, with connecting bus to Waikanae Beach.
The pavilion can be rented separately, or as an “overflow” facility for Longshore or Seabreeze.
NB: Due to a recent Government directive, Bookabach must add GST and pay this to IRD on behalf of the property owner. As we are already GST-registered we have changed our rates on this website to GST-exclusive. Any quotations generated by Bookabach will show our GST-exclusive rates and a Taxes item, which is the GST. Other booking sites may operate differently.
Special conditions:
Maximum overnight occupancy 6 (plus a cot). or maximum of 4 adults. Bunk beds are mainly for kids but will fit adults.
A 25% bond is required (maximum $200). Smoking is allowed outside only.
The tennis court, swimming pool and trampoline are shared between the Tennis Pavilion, Longshore and Seabreeze. The pool is heated mid-September to the end of April each year and is available for use by all guests 9am-6pm. (Outside these hours the pool is for the exclusive use of the Seabreeze guests.)
Bookings for Longshore hirers can be made 15 months in advance - just enquire when you book Longshore. Pavilion-only bookings can be made 6 months in advance.
Strictly no noise that can be heard by neighbours after 10pm.
Sorry, no dogs (except guide dogs).
