You're a quick drive to everything else: Te Puia's geysers and living Maori village are about eight minutes away, the lakefront, the hot pools at Polynesian Spa and Wai Ariki Spa and the cafes and restaurants of central Rotorua around ten, and Skyline's gondola and luge, Zorb and Canopy Tours about eighteen on the western side of town. Everyday shops and services are just a short drive away.
Getting Around:
A car is recommended, with a double internal-access garage plus free driveway and street parking. Mountain bikers can ride to the Redwoods forest trails, a short ride from the door (about five minutes by car to the Treewalk). Te Puia and Rotorua Airport are both around eight minutes, the lakefront and central Rotorua about ten, and Skyline, Zorb and Canopy Tours roughly eighteen on the western side of town.
