The Redwoods Whakarewarewa Forest, with its world-famous walking and mountain-biking trails, is just 500m away - an easy walk or ride from the door. Te Puia's geysers are about seven minutes, and the lakefront, the hot pools at Polynesian Spa and Wai Ariki Spa, central Rotorua and Rotorua Airport all around nine. Skyline's gondola and luge, Zorb and Canopy Tours are over on the western side of town, around seventeen minutes away. The Blue Lake, Lake Ōkareka and Lake Tarawera are also an easy drive for a swim or a paddle.
