Ahipara and Mangonui are just a few of the nearby coastal areas you can visit, including Matai Bay, Tokerau Beach, and Coopers Beach. The Space:The Tiny House is located just south of the town of Kaitaia, North Island of New Zealand, near the base of the Aupouri Peninsula, about 160 km northwest of Whangarei. Set on a modest metaled outdoor space atop a small rise overlooking the river and lower paddocks. A comfortable 155 square-feet stay with accessible parking next to the stockyards, and a short stroll across the paddock will take you to your well-deserved retreat with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. It has an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste-holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers) for your use. The lawn, however, is accessible and can be used to cross over to the main swimming hole. We also advise guests to exercise caution as the property is a water hazard, and children must be supervised at all times. Guests can also get hands-on farm experience by observing a small flock of Wiltshire sheep and Murray Grey cattle that graze on the grounds. We also have plans for a family garden and orchard on the northern side of the house, near the soon-to-be-built chicken coop. Once the orchard has matured a little, a small beehive will be stationed in their midst, providing the family and guests with plenty of honey. And on occasion when there is a surplus, we also offer fresh eggs, honey, and local produce available.
