The Redwoods Whakarewarewa Forest, with its world-famous walking and mountain-biking trails, is just 800m away - an easy walk or ride from the door. Rotorua Airport is about seven minutes, Te Puia's geysers eight, and the lakefront, the hot pools at Polynesian Spa and Wai Ariki Spa and central Rotorua around nine. Skyline's gondola and luge, Zorb and Canopy Tours are over on the western side of town, around eighteen minutes away. The Blue Lake, Lake Ōkareka and Lake Tarawera are also an easy drive for a swim or a paddle.
